We can only give the exact date as to when we can install your fences as soon as they arrive from manufacturing. On average, the production of fences may last up to 5 weeks. We ask for your patience since we take our time in making sure that our products are of the best quality. But the time can either be cut shorter or last longer depending on the type and size of your fence. Although one thing is certain, and that is we will advise you of the schedule right away after the fences are done. More or less the schedule will take place in the next one or two weeks.
How long will my fence installation take?
Typically, the fence installation takes about a week. It might seem long, but the actual installation only needs about 2 to 3 days. We say that it takes a week because we also include the required curing time for the cement. We want to make sure that we don’t compromise our work just to cut the installation time. This 1-week timeframe is applicable in perfect conditions when there is no holiday or unlikely weather conditions that may hamper the work. Otherwise, the installation may take as much as 2 to 3 weeks depending on the delay that we have to deal with.

Definitely, we can obtain it for you. As part of our service, we want to be able to take charge of everything that will concern your fences. Are There Legal Restrictions on My Fence?
Typically, there are legal restrictions when building fences. There are instances when the legal restriction can be on a large scale, like for example towns. But there are also times when the restrictions are only on a small scale like subdivisions. In some cases, the restrictions are written in detail in the rulebooks. Usually, the restrictions include the height, material, and the design of the fence. To avoid any interruptions, we see to it the we always consult with the authorities prior to starting the installation. There are some cases wherein contractors are required to secure permit before doing construction in an area.
Do I Need to Consult My Neighbors?
No, it is not required to consult your neighbors, but it will be better if you do. Since you are living closely together, the installation of your fence may cause them some inconveniences. If you do not inform them ahead of time, there is a tendency that they might be disturbed or irritated. After all, fence installation will create noise and disturbance. On the other hand, if you consult with them prior, they are able to anticipate it and then they can make the necessary adjustments. So, we highly encourage our clients to consult their neighbors to avoid any misunderstandings.
How Deep Should My Fence Posts Be?
The required depth for fences posts depend on the height of your actual fence. Shorter fences need shallow fence posts while taller fences will require deep fence posts. To determine the depth of your fence posts, we will be needing to identify the height of your fences first. Here is an estimate of how deep fence posts are on average. If you are looking into fences with average height, the fence posts will need to be around 3 to 4 feet deep. Also, fence posts pit must be wide enough to fit concrete. These things are all included in our computation, so you can leave the math to us.
Should the Fence Touch the Ground?
Fences are not supposed to touch the ground since it can damage your fences. If you have steel fences, the moisture of the ground may transfer onto the fence. The moisture then can cause it to rust and damage it in the long run. If the damage becomes irreparable, you might need to replace your fence sooner than planned. To keep your fences in the best condition, it is recommended to leave enough space to keep it from contact with the ground. But it is worth noting that there are fences that can touch the ground especially those that were designed to keep rodents, insects, and pests from invading your yard.
Does the Weather Affect the Installation?
Yes, fence installation may be cancelled when the weather is unfavorable. Our team may have a hard time working through difficult weather conditions, as well as it may affect the quality of our work. In case the weather is very wet or very humid, it may have an effect on the curing of the cement. Meanwhile, in extreme temperatures, which can either be too low or too high, the materials may either contract or swell. If we force to work with materials in their unnatural state, the effects may manifest at some time in the future, and we don’t want to risk it.
What Material Should I Use for My Fence?
The material that you are supposed to use for your fence depends on the type of fence that you will install in your property. Here at The Scottsdale Fence Company, we offer a wide variety of fence materials including metal, simtek, vinyl, brick, and wood. The most durable of these is the metal. It is among the most durable since it can endure all kinds of impact. On the other hand, if you need visual fences which can also provide equal kind of safety, simtek and wood are excellent choices. However, if you are on a tight budget, we have vinyl fences that can do an amazing job as well.
How Tall Should My Fence Be?
If you want your fence to give you the best privacy and concealment, it will be best to opt for fences that are as high as 7 to 10 feet tall. High fences can definitely keep you safe and secured since it is difficult to break into. However, if you don’t like the idea of tall fences covering up your entire property, and covering your view as well, you can go for shorter fences which are 3 to 4 feet high. Short fences do not give the best privacy nor security, but it is still better than having no fence at all.
How Long Will the Fence Last?
Ideally, fences should last at least 10 years. However, there are lots of different factors that can affect the state of your fences. With good materials and proper maintenance, fences can absolutely last long. Nevertheless, there are also fence materials which can last even with minimum care. If you are looking into fences that will last even with not as much maintenance, vinyl and metal are definitely the materials that you should give a try. However, if you are leaning into getting wooden fences, be prepared with the magnitude of maintenance and the amount of work that it may need to last really long.
